Dear people of the world, Sinema.SG needs an intern for the last quarter of the year so if you’re a student who has time to spare for some extra cash and a yearn to learn, we want you.

sinema.sg, ObjectifsFilms, Zhao Wei Films, Funkie Monkies Productions and Timbré presents a special Royston Tan showcase at the next sinema@timbré. Already in the theatres is Royston’s highly successful feature film “881” starring Mindee Ong, Qi Yu Wu, Yeo Yann Yann Yeo and Liu Ling Ling.

The past year has seen numerous Singaporean film exports hitting home – hard – with audiences beyond our reclaimed shores. Feature films, such as Eric Khoo’s “Be With Me” aside, short films have also been creating considerable waves overseas.

Royston Tan’s 881 has just been submitted to the prestigious Taiwan Golden Horse Awards Competition for over ten categories, including Best Director, Best Feature Film, Best Actor / Actress and Best Song in Film.

Titled Epilogue & Endroller, the track is a quiet and atmospheric blend of pianos, classical and acoustic guitars and the floating registers of triangles and xylophones culminating with enya-esque vocals.

The first “Singapore Wave”, a showcase of works from emerging young Singaporean filmmakers, was presented by the Singapore Creative Network UK in London on 3 August 2007.
