First Take screening in July! Organised by The Substation Moving Images programme, First Take is a monthly platform for showcasing new short films, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.

Sinema speaks with Wee Li Lin, director of the upcoming feature film Gone Shopping about the ups and downs, the lure of our favourite pastime and the people who make going shopping worth its while. Interview by Randy Ang.

Singapore’s first musical, 881, sees award-winning director Royston Tan depart from the quiet style of his previous film 4:30. Together with long-time collaborator and producer Gary Goh, Royston will discuss the lavish choreography, the music and the High Definition production process in his film. Go behind-the-scenes with award-winning filmmaker Wee Li-Lin as she shares her experience producing her first feature film, Gone Shopping. Accompanied by members of her crew, Li-Lin will go in-depth into her storyboarding, costuming and music process and offer tips to filmmakers keen on taking that leap into feature filmmaking on High Definition.

“Sing to the Dawn”, the first animated feature from Infinite Frameworks will sing come June 2008. A co-production between Infinite Frameworks, the Media Development Authority and MediaCorp Raintree Pictures, it has been in the works since 2003 but delayed until now.
