Reading Time: < 1 minuteFour individuals and one team were accorded Singapore’s highest youth accolade on Sunday afternoon. The Singapore Youth Award (SYA) recognises outstanding achievements and contributions by exemplary youths.
The winners are filmmaker Boo Junfeng, honoured in the Arts and Culture category, Darius Cheung in the entrepreneurship category, scientist Dr Teo Yik Ying for Science & Technology, industrial relations officer Terence Chia in the Community and Youth Services category.
The cyber wellness trailblazers from TOUCH Cyber Wellness won in the Community & Youth Services – Team category. The winners received their awards from Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean at the Istana.

Boo Junfeng
His films work like a mirror, making Singaporeans examine personal identity and national history.
At 27, Boo Junfeng is best known for making the first local film to be featured at the Cannes Film Festival Critics’ Week. Now, he joins the company of local directors Eric Khoo (1999) and Royston Tan (2010), as a winner of the Singapore Youth Award.
