Coming to local cinemas this July, Twisted is the latest horror action comedy from Writer Director Chai Yee Wei. The movie is a horror action comedy which consists of 3 different short stories strung together by a drug dealer character, played by Mark Lee. Other characters include a pair of con men who wants to turn over a new leaf, and 4 cabin crews whose lives were turned upside down over a fateful night of drugs and booze. Yee Wei, known for his comical short films Blue Heaven and Lau Sai (Diarrhea), creates a story of individuals with intertwined fates that unfold into a series of twisted events. He injects an air of dark humor that appeals to an international audience, and makes a study of cause-and-effect at the same time by showing how bad deeds can catch up with you.

The entire film was shot in as well as co-funded by production companies in Malaysia. Starring familiar actors from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Twisted is a collaboration of some of the best comedic and acting talents from around this region. The talented cast of veteran actors, including Joey Leong, Randall Tan, Vincent Tee, Hong Kong’s Zhu Mi Mi, and Taiwan’s Linda Liao, brings the twisted southeast asian tales to life. Look out for Malaysian actors Alvin Wong and Brandon Yuen in their first leading roles in the film as well.

The film opens in local theatres on 28 July, 2011. It is set to be released in Malaysia and Taiwan as well – dates to be announced soon.
