Park Chan-wook has been hired to direct dark family drama Stoker, his first English-language film.

Written by Prison Break actor Wentworth Miller, under the pen name Ted Foulke, Stoker centres around an eccentric teenager named Indiana Stoker and her relationship with her uncle after the death of her father.

The screenplay became a hot item last month when it was came fifth in Franklin Leonard’s annual “Black List” of un-produced scripts as voted by 300 film industry insiders in Hollywood, New York and London.

Stoker will be produced by Scott Free Productions in partnership with Fox Searchlight, who picked up the rights to the script. Ridley Scott, once rumoured to direct the film, will produce.
