Saskatoon will be part of what hopes to be the largest premiere screening of an volunteer-based, independent movie this weekend.
The documentary Zeitgeist: Moving Forward will have 300 screenings in 60 countries and 30 languages starting on Saturday. All this, despite no major studio support.
The big audience is mostly thanks to the Zeitgeist Movement, a grassroots organization which advocates for social change, particularly the movement away from a money-based economy.
Though the movement doesn’t necessarily promote any of the ideas in the films, the community formed as a reaction to screenings of the movies.
Sinema will be screening Zeitgeist: Moving Forward till 22 Jan.
