Reading Time: < 1 minuteHong Kong-based Chinese entertainment company, Celestial Pictures has opened an office in Taiwan and hired Jeffrey Soong (pictured) to run the operation.
Soong, who reports to Celestial CEO Ross Pollack, will be expected to expand the distribution of Celestial’s TV channels, develop film and TV series co-productions and explore new media licensing opportunities.
Soong was previously managing director of Infinio, a media solutions and services provider listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
“Taiwan’s important role in Chinese entertainment is unquestioned and as a Chinese content company, it is imperative we have a local presence there,” said Pollack.
