Call for technologies to curb video piracy1 min read

If there is something that the film industry has been fighting for years and yet remains unsuccessful, it is the issue of piracy.

Almost every month, the Video Piracy Wing of the Central Crime Branch seizes hundreds of bootleg DVDs, predominantly of Tamil films, and has arrested over 200 persons selling pirated DVDs since last year.

If technology is blamed for being a serious menace in enabling piracy, it is also seen as the only platform that holds the magical key for curbing it.

Array Shield Technologies CEO Pavan Thatha, one of the developers of anti-piracy security, says government should fund researches that develop anti-piracy technologies.
