THE legendary Great World Amusement Park is the stuff of misty water-coloured memories for many Singaporeans.
And it is the cast and crew’s aim to “breathe life back” into those memories, said the film’s director Kelvin Tong.
“So began a lot of trips to the national archives and calling a lot of older Singaporeans and getting them to recount their memories,” said the 38-year-old Raintree creative director.
The $2-million film, It’s A Great Great World, revolves around a vibrant group of characters who live, work and play in the amusement park, and features an ensemble star-studded cast of MediaCorp artistes, including Joanne Peh, Chew Chor Meng, Xiang Yun, Huang Wenyong, Kym Ng, Chen Shucheng and Gurmit Singh.
