‘Guzaarish’ escapes ban in Eastern India1 min read

Competition watchdog CCI paved the way for exhibition of Aishwarya Rai-Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Guzaarish’ in the northern states of Bihar and Jharkhand.

The film, marred by controversy over allegations of plagiarism and Aishwarya Rai’s onscreen smoking stunt, is slated for release tomorrow.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been dragged to court by writer Dayanand Raajan who has accused him of copying the script of the movie from his yet-to-be published novel ‘Summer Show’.

The film has also run into controversy with National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) taking objection to film posters displayed across Mumbai that show actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan smoking a cigarette.
