She made her name as a homeless, abused orphan in Slumdog Millionaire.
And despite the huge critical acclaim she got for Slumdog, the actress is worried about the effect of the film.
‘People in India wonder why I’m staying clear of Bollywood films. I’m not staying clear of them, but there are some amazing films in India, made on a much smaller scale, that don’t get the same appreciation as the big Bollywood films, and I’ve never understood why,’ she says.
