Acclaimed filmmaker Jane Campion, one of the four women in film history to be nominated for an Best Director Oscar, says that an artist”s sensitivity has nothing to do with gender.

Jane, who attended the Venice International Film Festival before flying down to Mumbai said this was her fourth time as a jury at a film festival.

According to her, prizes won at Film Festivals mean a lot to independent filmmakers the worldover.

“Delicacy and sensitivity can actually come from men. I have seen very sensitive men and extremely insensitive women,” Jane remarked when asked about chairing an all-women”s International Jury at the 12th Mumbai Film Festival and if women”s sensitivities are different while judging work of art.
