The Digital Media Chapter of Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), have come together to organise Singapore’s Digital Media Festival 2008 with generous support from a variety of corporate sponsors and government agencies. It is a two-day event, held from the 30th to the 31st of October, with the theme “Television 2.0 – Internet Services and New Media Mashup”.

dmf.jpgThe Singapore Digital Media Festival is a unique event which plays different roles. Part conference, part-film festival, and part networking event, DMfest is an opportunity where IT and media production professionals can engage in meaningful dialogues and unearth synergies that will help propel them forward in their specific fields.

Key features of the programme include an evening screening of made-for-Internet films and video, including a live HD transmission from North America, and a full-day conference presenting business and technology trends in digital media.

The former film festival element would focus on made-for-internet films which include “Star Wreck”, a series of Finnish Star Trek parody movies. There will also be a live HD interview with Mark Schubin, Engineer in charge of the “Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD”.

The event will be held at different venues:
Day 1: Gallery Theatre, National Museum
Day 2: The Legend at Fort Canning

Tickets are priced at $188 for SiTFF members and $268 for non members. For more information, please visit the official website.
