Top films promote Taiwan studies in US
The Film Studies Center of National Central University will show a series of Taiwan-made films on several university campuses in the United States.
It will be promoting local cinematic art and Taiwan studies through film.
“Under the umbrella Taiwan Film Festival, the seven feature films to be screened in the U.S. are representative of this society and have received critical acclaim in recent years,” Lin Wen-chi, an NCU professor who leads the film studies center, said at a media conference.
More significantly, Lin said, 35mm prints of these feature films will be given to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for its permanent collection after the two-month screening tour concludes.
