Reading Time: < 1 minuteReturning in a hybrid format from 25 November to 5 December, the Singapore Media Festival (SMF) will offer a line-up of events that looks to bring Asian storytelling to the global stage.
Bringing in highly-regarded regional showrunners such as G.H.Y Culture & Media, Akanga Film Asia and 108 Media, the festival will look to connect them with Singapore’s creative talents through a series of curated pitches. A total of 30 concepts will be pitched at the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF), a constituent event of the SMF, with the aim of obtaining financing and co-production offers.
ScreenSingapore (SS) and Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF), together with the return of VidCon Asia Summit (VidCon) and SG Comic Con (SGCC) complete the line-up of partner events happening throughout the 11-day festival.
Mr Justin Ang, Assistant Chief Executive, Media and Innovation, IMDA said, “Through the Singapore Media Festival (SMF) and other programmes, we continue to strengthen Singapore’s position as the region’s most vibrant media hub, to bring global opportunities to our creative talent and media businesses. This year’s SMF will see us connecting top showrunners to our creative talents, to ignite opportunities to create exciting content together for the region and beyond.”
