Now available for download, DaVinci Resolve 17.4 brings five times faster 8K editing and grading to the new Apple Mac models with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

The latest update also increases the decoding speed of 12K Blackmagic RAW files, making it over three times faster and 1.5 times faster H.265 rendering. Another speed increase is with DaVinci Neural Engine performance, moving up to four times faster for real-time facial recognition, object detection and smart reframing.

Furthermore, support for ProMotion 120Hz displays makes playback and editing incredibly smooth and HDR viewers are also supported on the new Apple MacBook HDR displays.

New to the software is the addition of Dropbox Replay integration, featuring frame accurate coloured markers, comments and annotations instantaneously synced to the DaVinci Resolve timeline. Plus with a simple login, customers will only have to sign in once. Other features include quick and easy render set up with dedicated Dropbox and Dropbox Replay presets as well as automatic background uploads that are monitored for status and confirmed when complete.
