Adobe Updates Creative Cloud Apps for Apple’s M1 Macs; Ships New Features Across Desktop and Mobile Apps1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteAdobe has released major updates across Creative Cloud with a considerable boost in speed and performance gains for customers on Apple’s new line of Macs and Macbooks, running on the Silicon M1 chip, and powerful new features and workflow improvements across flagship desktop and mobile applications.
Highlights include:
- Illustrator, InDesign, and Lightroom Classic are now native apps for Apple’s M1 Macs: Complete all your desired tasks – quicker than ever before, with more room for creative iteration and expression.
- Illustrator users will see a 65% increase in performance: Opening a graphics-heavy file is now 185% faster while Scroll performance on a text-heavy document of 100 pages improved 78%
- InDesign users will see a 59% improvement on overall performance: Scroll performance when editing complex vectors improved 390% while opening a new file with 31 complex artboards is now 119% faster
- Lightroom Classic now runs natively (and very quickly) on Macs with the new M1 chip, no Rosetta mode needed
- New Premium Presets in seven different categories: For photos of people with deep, medium, and light skin tones, to create cinematic/big screen experiences, fast forwarding to the future or going back in time, wanderlust-ing, and some new free Portrait Presets
- New retouching features in Photoshop Express: Latest tools specifically designed for face and selfie retouching, as demanded by users, include skin smoothing, content aware healing, face aware liquify, and caricature
- Other Lightroom updates: Collaborative editing (and saving) capabilities; availability of Super Resolution (previously in Adobe Camera Raw only); and custom crop aspect ratios
- New styling tools in Adobe XD: Inner Shadow, Outline Stroke, and Angular Gradient
- Custom brushes in Photoshop on iPad
- Illustrator on the iPad June 2021 Release: Enhanced Illustration capabilities and Rotate Canvas
- Premiere Pro Beta on Apple M1: Premiere Pro for M1 Macs is currently in public Beta and will be available soon
