The 93rd Academy Awards has just wrapped up after a historic 441-day wait. This year marks the most diverse Academy Awards in history.

At the beginning of the night, Chloë Zhao took home Best Director, becoming the second woman and the first woman of colour to win an Oscar for directing.

The show concluded with the three most coveted categories. Best Picture went to the meditative and sombre drama film about modern-day nomads, Nomadland.

For Best Actress, Frances McDormand clinched her third win in the category. She previously won Best Actress for her performances in Fargo and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Ending off the night was Best Actor, which was presented by last year’s winner Joaquin Phoenix. The Academy surprised many who were expecting the late Chadwick Boseman to win and instead gave the award to Sir Anthony Hopkins for his performance as a man with dementia in The Father.
