The Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) is the largest and longest-running film event in Singapore. This year, entries are invited for three categories: Feature and Short Films, Southeast Asian Film Lab and Youth Jury & Critics Programme.

Deadline of submission for all: 19 August 2019, 6pm (GMT +8)

Feature and Short Films Submission
Submission fee (USD25) applies for submissions after 4th August 2019

Criteria for Feature Films:
– Minimum runtime is 60 minutes
– Any country of production; directors of Asian nationality or origin

Criteria for Short Films:
– Maximum runtime is 30 minutes
– Production in Southeast Asia; directors of Southeast Asian nationality or origin

SGIFF Southeast Asian Film Lab
This organisation invites first-time feature filmmakers from Southeast Asia into a 7-day course that includes feedback from mentors, masterclasses and a pitch in front of an industry panel for a development prize – The Most Promising Project – that will be awarded at the Silver Screen Awards.

To apply, submit a feature-length screenplay, i.e. a work of fiction or non-fiction that serves as the blueprint for a film with a minimum 60-minute runtime.

SGIFF Youth Jury & Critics Programme
This programme is open to post-secondary students with a keen interest in films from Southeast Asia. Participants will learn the significance of Southeast Asian works, the benefits of film theory and close readings of films, different interview approaches; as well as write for the Festival’s Live online film journal, Youth Meets Film.
