Sinema is proud to present the Singapore premiere of The Forest Spirits.

The film will be screened at Sinema Showoff! The Oriental Show, a themed showcase of local short films featuring Oriental directors, subject matters and languages. Sinema Showoff! this year is a monthly screening hosted by Sinema Old School and curated by Singapore Polytechnic.

The film recently made its world premiere to approx. 1,000 people at Maskara Shorties, a film festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia .

The chief curator of the festival Mr. Sinaganaga Lan Hussain remarked, “Szu Kiong’s stunning visuals take me back to CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON. A must-see.”

THE FOREST SPIRITS is also our Curator’s Pick.

“The Forest Spirits is a beautiful piece of artwork that reinforces our Oriental-themed screening and besides its Hungry Ghost Month. I’m quite certain this film will get more screenings locally and overseas,” said Ramasamy Rajesree, our Guest Curator from the Singapore Polytechnic.

Sinema Showoff! The Oriental Show is on Tuesday, 31st August 2010 at 7.30pm. Admission is FREE.
