Storyboard 08′ is an initiative to educate, entertain and excite Singaporeans in film appreciation and creation, particularly the younger generation. It is a collaborative effort between *scape and students from the Nanyang Technological University’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information.

storyboard.jpgStoryboard 08′ aims to encourage local film appreciation among non-film students and youths; provide opportunities for youth to view local films (commercial or otherwise) and finally, to encourage budding filmmakers to further their careers in the film industry.

It also serves as an avenue for filmmakers to showcase their works, and creates an accessible, youth-initiated platform for these filmmakers to be mentored by industry professionals.

The event starts this Friday with an overnight script-writing competition entitled “Shed.Ink”, taing place at the *scape Youth Centre from 21 Dec at 8pm till 22 Dec 8am. Scripts will be judged by industry professionals and stand a chance to be featured in the Fables Short Film Competition (see below)

Also part of the programme is Fables, a short film competition that starts collecting entries this Saturday, 22 Dec. Deadline for submission is 2 Feb, and all entries should be directed to *scape Youth Centre: The Lab, 113 Somerset Road.
