Wet Season 热带雨, from award-winning local director Anthony Chen, will be making its debut at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

This is the follow-up film to his debut feature, Ilo Ilo, which premiered at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival as part of the Directors’ Fortnight. It was given the Caméra d’Or award, thus becoming the first Singaporean feature film to achieve an award at the prestigious festival.

It had also received six nominations at the Golden Horse Film Festival Awards, and won four of them, including Best Film and Best New Director.

Wet Season 热带雨 will be competing under the Platform category at TIFF, a juried programme that champions director’s cinema from around the world.
