Malaysian director and writer, Jess Teong made all of us proud by bagging 4 awards at the 7th Macau International Movie Festival with her latest film – ‘The Kid From The Big Apple’. Out of the four wins, two went to Tiong and child star Sarah Tan while the other two went to Hong Kong nationals Ti Lung and Jessica Hester Hsuan.

Written and directed by Teong, the film follows a 12-year-old girl from New York who has to live with her conservative grandfather in Malaysia after her mother is assigned to work in China. Plus, the film is shot entirely in Malaysia!
