Cheer Factor: 2 more Filipino films invited to foreign tilts
Apart from the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, which will feature nine movies by Filipino filmmakers in October, three other foreign festivals – one also in South Korea, two in Europe – are screening two Filipino indies.
Henry Burgos’ short film, “Painted Reality,” will be screened in the kids section of the Concorto Film Festival in Italy, to be held August 20 to 27.
“Painted Reality” will also compete for the Youth Audience Prize at the Silhouette Short Film Festival in Paris, France.
Burgos’ Paris screenings will be at Centquatre Hall on August 28 and 31 and September 4.
Also, Auraeus Solito’s “Busong,” which Burgos co-wrote, will be shown at the Cindi Film Festival in Seoul, South Korea on August 20 and 23. “Busong” is included in Cindi’s Perspectives section, which showcases “the vanguard of contemporary digital cinema.”
