The Kuala Lumpur Causeway Exchange Festival Films programme has been unveiled, showing which movies visitors can expect to see at the occasion aimed at displaying the best emerging artists from Singapore.

It forms part of a wider event running from August 4th to 7th that includes sections devoted to literary arts, theatre, visual arts and a special series on food, sex and death.

The cycle of films available are all performed in Mandarin, but will be screened at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) with English subtitles.

First up is Royston Tan’s Old Places, a documentary exploring areas of Singapore that are disappearing and looking at the impact this is having on local residents. It will be shown on August 4th.
The second movie in the series is a comedy by Han Yew Kwang entitled When Hainan Meets Teochew, which is being screened on August 5th and 6th.

On the final day, Singapore Gaga and Invisible City will be shown, both of which are documentaries about the country.

The first two movies will be screened at 20:30 local time while the double bill begins at 15:30. Entry is by donation of at least ten ringgits (£2.05).
