MANILA, Philippines — Thank you press: Regal Films producer Lily Monteverde gave a touching speech June 21 as she accepted the Star Awards’ Lifetime Achievement trophy.
She thanked the entertainment press profusely, saying that Regal Films owed much of its success to members of the press, many of whom have become her personal friends.
At a time when TV networks have practically eaten up the entertainment industry, “Mother” Lily acknowledged the immeasurable help extended by the press to promote her movies.
“The press is my secret weapon,” she loves to say.
