For most people, the music business is a great unknown. The extent of their knowledge can be summed up simply: Artists sing, albums are recorded, music is played on the radio.

“I have family members and friends who have no idea what exactly I do for a living,” said Brad Prosko, owner of Regina’s B-Rad Studio.

The studio, which was named 2009 recording studio-of-the-year by the Saskatchewan Country Music Association, keeps Prosko busy but not busy enough to stop him from joining three Regina artists in From The Ground Up, a web documentary series that will take an educational look at the recording process.

The project, which also includes Laura Roddick, Jayson Brinkworth and Rob Green, will encompass 10 videos posted online that follow Roddick as she records “Soar,” a song from her debut album.
