The Tribeca Film Festival (20 Apr to 1 May) will host the international festival premiere of Let the Bullets Fly and the world premiere of Underwater Love.

Jiang Wen’s blackly comedic western Bullets holds the record as China’s highest grossing film after taking more than $100 million in mainland cinemas. The star cast includes Jiang, Chow Yun-fat and Ge You.

Jiang has described Tribeca co-founder Martin Scorsese as a mentor and arranged a private screening of Bullets during post-production for Scorsese in August 2010 when he visited Beijing with his family.

Underwater Love, directed by Imaoka Shinji, is a “pink” (erotic) musical produced by Japan’s Kokuei and Germany’s Rapid Eye Movies with Christopher Doyle serving as cinematographer.
