$9 million proof that good movies sell

LOCAL movie-goers forked out RM22.2 million (S$9 million) to watch five Malaysian films last month. The one-month collection was the highest-ever in the history of Malaysian cinema.

The five films were Ngangkung, Aku Tak Bodoh, Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah, Aku Masih Dara and Janin.

Ngangkung, produced by MIG Productions, collected RM8.4 million while Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah, produced by Tayangan Unggul, made RM7.5 million.

Aku Masih Dara made RM2.1 million while Aku Tak Bodoh and Janin made RM700,000 and RM1.5 million respectively.
