Independent film “Presa,” which depicts the intertwining lives of women inmates, was screened on Sunday at the Women’s Correctional Institution.

Adolf Alix, Jr’s winning film is based on a true story and was shot on location inside the Women’s Correctional Institution.

“Presa” features award-winning and veteran indie film stars including Anita Linda, Ramirez, Jodi Sta. Maria, Tetchie Agbayani, Angeli Agbayani, Ina Feleo, Liza Lorena, Bautista, Rosanna Roces, and with the special participation of Alessandra De Rossi.

“We thought that inside the correctional was a very violent world. But inside this institution is an alternative community for women prisoners. At the same time we were telling the stories, inside the jail, there’s a hierarchy for people living there,” Alix said.
