Malaysian wins best New Director at Golden Horse1 min read

Malaysian film director Ho Wi Ding won the best new director award at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Film Festival in Taipei.

Ho’s first feature film Pinoy Sunday is a comedy that tells the story of Filipino migrant workers in Taiwan.

Pinoy Sunday (Filipino with English Subtitles)

Ho was born in Muar, Johor, in 1971, and graduated from the film school at New York University. He is currently based in Taiwan.

The film also won the Kodak Discovery award for best short film and TV5 Young Critics’ award at the film festival.
