National Award winner film director Abhayasimha said that reaching a situation where organizing a festival to screen good movies is unfortunate.

Further speaking he said that in recent days people cannot watch movies without popcorn, which represents that movies are not giving them any happiness.

He was delivering his presidential speech at the four-day International Film Festival organized first time in the city by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy of Bangalore and the Bellimandala and Belli Saakshi units of Dakshina Kannada district which was inaugurated by deputy commissioner Subhodh Yadav at Don Bosco Hall on Sunday November 14 at 9.30 am.

The films selected for the festival include three Indian films in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages. Other films are from Israel, Iran, Russia, Iran/Iraq, Czech, South Africa, France, Algeria, United States of America, and two each from China, and Korea.
