2013 to be film heritage year

India will celebrate 2013 as the centenary milestone year to showcase the heritage of the Indian film industry.

The celebrations would offer an opportunity to applaud young iconic members of the film industry for their contribution, while at the same time positioning India as a “soft power” at the global level.

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ambika Soni said at the 57th National Film Awards that she would soon constitute a National Committee to suggest a comprehensive plan for making it a truly memorable event for cine lovers.
