The 14th Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival kicks off — literally — with Gallants, a film by Canadian director Clement Cheng and Hong Kong filmmaker Derek Kwok that celebrates the classic kung-fu movies of the 1970s.
Shorts, feature films, Canadian works, panel discussions, a pitch competition with more than $30,000 in prizes, receptions and gala parties are also on the bill for Reel Asian.
