Film gives Vietnam veterans a voice

Vietnam veterans fought on a battlefield as brutal and deadly as most wars in history, but their story “is met with angst and controversy,” and a local film producer is giving them a voice. The documentary focuses on struggles experienced by Michigan Vietnam veterans, who received a much different homecoming than other generations, said director Keith Famie, a nine-time Emmy winner.

“Vietnam veterans fought in the most controversial and longest wars,” Famie said. “They are the leaders of our community. … So much of our society has no clue of what they did when they were younger. They are very humble.”
