The Substation‘s Moving Images will be celebrating its tenth anniversary from 7 to 10 December 2007 with a big bang at its Armenian Street home. The entire premise will be turned into a massive open house-type party, and starting on Friday night (7th), celebrations go underway with guest appearances by filmmakers, film screenings, and of course, food.

substation.jpgThe opening anniversary showcase will also be on Friday, and kicks off at 8pm with a premier of Jacen Tan’s new film on the local indie film scene, as well as a new short by Jeremy Sing. Old favourites will also be screened, along with The Best of First Take. Other new works by The Substation’s Associate Artists will also be showcased.

The weekend of the 8th and 9th will see a public movie paraphernalia market where anyone can sell their movie posters, DVDs and memorabilia. Anyone interested in renting a booth can do so by registering online with the following details: Name, list of items, number of people, contact details and a brief write up. There are only 20 spaces, and rental is by donation, so be generous and quick!

And if you’re free between the 7th to the 10th, why not volunteer to be an event marshall between 5pm to 10pm for a good cause? All you need to do is drop an email to movingimages@substation.org with your name, contact details and dates of availability.
