Asia Pacific Screen nominations revealed1 min read

Berlin and Cannes film festival award winners A Separation and Once Upon a Time in Anatolia head the list of nominees for this year’s Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

Asghar Farhadi’s A Separation is a wrenching drama from Iran about a family who must decide between bettering their life abroad or caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s; while Nuri Blige Ceylan’s Once Upon a Time in Anatolia is a Turkish-language is a murder-mystery about a group of men charged with retrieving a body from the mountains. 

Both films are their respective countries nominees for next year’s foreign language Oscar.

Also nominated for the APSA best film award are Let the Bullets Fly from China, Goodbye from Iran and Wedding Planners from India.
