‘Gangster Wives’ fights to the top1 min read

ACTION romantic comedy Bini-Biniku Gangster is set to repeat the success of Kongsi, a film that collected RM7 million within seven days earlier this year.

In fact, based on the hits on its trailer on YouTube (it has more than 400,00 hits), the film might be able to surpass Kongsi’s RM8.1 million collection.

Kongsi, directed by Farid Kamil, was the first local action comedy to make big money in the cineplexes. Unfortunately, the film ran out of gas in its second week and could only collect RM1.1 million more at the box office.

Kongsi’s box-office decline was due to bad reviews from word of mouth. Yet, the film managed to become one of the most profitable films this year. Fortunately enough, Bini-Biniku Gangster, directed by Ismail Bob Hashim, has an engaging yet simple storyline that movie fans can follow.
