The newest trailer for the remake of the 1984 dance film Footloose was released August 15.

The footage shows a series of snipits from the film depicting a city kid who must adjust when he arrives in a small conservative US town that outlaws rock’n’roll and dancing. He ends up leading the teens in a rebellion against repression.

Kenny Wormald (Clerks II) stars as the new kid in town – the role played by Kevin Bacon in the 1984 film – while Julianne Hough (Burlesque) and Dennis Quaid (G.I. Joe: the Rise of Cobra) star as father and daughter.

Based on the original film, a few changes and some contemporary style have been added to update the story.
