Indonesian Film Wins Inaugural Asian Short Film Awards@ScreenSingapore1 min read

The winner of the inaugural Asian Short Film Awards@ScreenSingapore was announced on 5 June, at the official launch of ScreenSingapore,. Oliver Stone, renowned film director, headed the judging panel, which also consisted of esteemed film industry professionals. The winning film, Payung Merah (Red Umbrella) was submitted by Edward Gunawan and Andri Cung, who crafted a supernatural thriller about a taxi driver who learns to truly appreciate his family after picking up a beautiful yet mysterious passenger.

The Asian Short Film Awards@ScreenSingapore celebrates the art of short film story-telling and creativity by filmmakers from the Asia Pacific region, and gives them the opportunity to showcase their work to a global audience. The winning filmmakers will receive a cash prize of SGD$20,000 (USD$15,800) sponsored by RGM Media and are invited to attend ScreenSingapore, with travel expenses covered.
