Top stars to attend ScreenSingapore
High profile stars will attend the inaugural ScreenSingapore (5-12 June) film expo to be held in the city state next month
One year after the initial launch at Cannes a year ago, the board of ScreenSingapore announced that Chinese film The Devil Inside Me (å¥ªå‘½å¿ƒè·³) will screen on opening night. The thriller, directed by Zhang Qi (å¼µç¦, Help æ•‘æˆ‘) stars Tony Leung Kar-fai (æ¢å®¶è¼) and Kelly Lin (æž—ç†™è•¾).
The opening evening will also include teaser trailers for high profile films from two Hong Kong directors, Gordon Chan’s (é™³å˜‰ä¸Š) Mural (ç•«å£) and Jingle Ma’s (é¦¬æ¥šæˆ) Speed Angel (æ¥µé€Ÿå¤©ä½¿). Organisers confirmed that both directors are set to attend as will Tang Wei (æ¹¯å”¯), one of the stars of Angel.
Event organisers also scored a coup with Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan pledging to join the Singapore red carpet. Khan will present promotional footage from his science fiction superhero film Ra.One as part of Bollywood Night. The evening also includes the local premiere of Anees Bazmee’s comedy Ready.
