Future looks bright for director Yong Mun Chee1 min read

LOOKS like the sun continues to shine brightly for Singaporean Yong Mun Chee.

The Los Angeles-based writer-director’s debut feature film, Where The Road Meets The Sun, recently took home Best Ensemble Acting and the Special Jury Award for Outstanding Cinematography for Gavin Kelly at the 2011 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. The festival is a showcase for the best and brightest of Asian Pacific cinema and has presented over 3,400 films and videos by Asian international and Asian-American artistes since 1983.

It is yet another feather in her already full cap.

The University of Southern California graduate, and 2008 recipient of MDA’s (Media Development Authority) New Feature Film Fund, has already name a name for herself as a festival winner, having already collected a plethora of awards including Best Director, Special Jury and Best Supporting Actor for Will Yun Lee at the Houston International Film and Video Festival last month.
