South filmmakers hooked to Hindi cinema1 min read

Bollywood films that are remakes of South Indian blockbusters are widely read and written about.

However, its not just Hindi filmmakers that are inspired by South Indian films. The tables have definitely turned and Hindi cinema has caught the fantasy and attention of filmmakers down South.

While Dabangg (Gabbar Singh in Telugu) and Fashion are the newest of the lot that are being remade in South Indian languages, we take a look at some others that have been remade to entertain the regional audiences.

Main Aisa He Hoon (Pitha): South superstar Vikram will be playing the lead in Pitha which shares its story line with Bollywood’s Main Aisa He Hoon. The Bollywood version had Ajay Devgn playing the lead.

Interestingly, Main Aisa He Hoon was a remade of Hollywood’s I Am Sam. However director Vijay has rubbished the rumours that his story is inspired by any other film.
