ASTRO First, a new channel which offers the latest Malaysian movies two weeks after their cinema run, is set to change the way people watch movies. It will also change the local film industry.

The channel has received mixed reactions from industry players.

The service started last week with three films — Ngangkung, Aku Masih Dara and Damping Malam, all produced by MIG Productions.

Subscribers are charged RM15 (S$6.29) for each title and have 48 hours to view their chosen film. Other films that will be shown on the channel are Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah, Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa, Senjakala, Dalam Botol, Kembar Siang, Kongsi and Di Sini Ada Hantu.
