Reading Time: < 1 minuteWritings on one of the much talked about films in the Sri Lankan cinema history, Prasanna Vithanage’s “˜Purahanda Kaluwara’ (Death on a full Moon Day) made into a book will be launched on December 23, 2010 at the National Film Corporation Cinema.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of the film, various writings including the screenplay of the film is included in the book titled “Purahanda Kaluwara Potha”.
The controversy ridden film was even taken to the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka claiming the violation of fundamental rights for freedom of expression when the authorities tried to prevent its public screening.
The book also contains reviews, notes on the government’s controversial banning of the film and the Supreme Court’s subsequent verdict.
