He said “regional” had always been “national”, a phenomenon that was well understood by Mahatma Gandhi.
He called upon the industry to work out a concrete on a plan of action so that it could be presented to the government.
“I know that producers and directors often complain about the whopping fees that the actors charge for performing in one film. But it is also to be kept in mind that an actor is paid only that much which his films can draw back to the producer’s coffers. Moreover, an actor’s job has no post retirement benefits,” Kamal was quoted saying.
