“Waiting for Superman” opens JIFFest1 min read

For the first time, the festival will open with a documentary, “Waiting for “Superman”, and closes ten days later with Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Biutiful.

Eight local films compete in the 5th edition of the Indonesian Feature Film Competition, adjudicated by a jury consisting of producers Gabrielle Kelly, Nguyen Thi Bao Mai and Jo Ji-hoon.
This year’s festival has a special emphasis on local documentaries with screenings of Diujung Jalan, about the families of overseas workers, HipHopDiningrat, about Yogyakarta’s hip-hop culture, and omnibuses Working Girls and Kickstart!.
