Organized in conjunction with Four Thousand Years of Southeast Asian Art, the festival encompasses a wide variety of cinematic genres.

Some of the films include 15 Malaysia, which showcases 15 short narratives from Malaysia by up and coming directors with the likes of late Yasmin Ahmad, and House of Straw by Chris Yeo.

An example of contemporary arthouse cinema in Singapore, In the House of Straw is an experimental exploration of modern urban life. Zhi Wen moves out of his parents house to live with two friends, professional bicycle thieves Ah Pin and Mark, and finds himself trapped in a strange world of vice and deception. Leading Asian film scholar Professor Wimal Dissanayake of the Academy for Creative Media at the University of Hawaii, will introduce the film and lead a post-screening Q & A discussion.
