The Osaka Asian Film Festival is to become a competitive event from its next edition (3-13 March 2011).

The festival will offer two prizes worth ¥500,000 ($5,750) and ¥200,000 ($2,300) respectively for the Grand Prize and for the most promising talent ““ a definition which also includes executives, some technical staff and directors as well as on-screen talent.
