The verdict is out: There is a 63 per cent increase in the amount of deals made this year at the Asia Media Festival, amounting to a total of $76.6 million. The festival attracted a total number of 5,293 participants from over 50 countries, and expects another $60 million in deals to come within the following year.

amf.jpgHosted by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and organised by Reed Exhibitions, the festival included the Asia Television Forum (ATF) and the Asia Factual Forum.

Deals made at the ATF includes the Disney-ABS International Television Asia Pacific licensing new drama and comedy series to 13 broadcasters in the region, and new alliances are formed with the Philippines and France for co-productions and other collaborations.

A Masterclass Series has also just been announced between the MDA and the William Morris Agency for bolstering local talent.
